What this site collects, and what happens to it.

Written in plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy. If anything here is unclear, call and ask.

The short version

Two kinds of information, and that is all

What you type in on purpose. If you fill in the quote form or book online, we get what you entered so we can call you back and do the work.
What a website records by itself. Which pages were viewed and roughly where the visit came from, through our own counter and through Google’s analytics and advertising tags.

We do not sell your information, we do not trade it, and this site does not run a marketing email list. Nothing on this website asks you for a payment card, a bank account or a Social Security number.

Who this is

Atlas Mechanical LLC

Atlas Mechanical LLC, 10165 Park Meadows Dr, Lone Tree, CO 80124. Phone (303) 601-1444. Email atlasmechanical@proton.me.

This policy covers the website at atlasmechanicalco.com. It does not cover other companies’ websites that we link to.

Information you give us

The quote form and the booking page

The quote form on this site asks for five things: your name, your phone number, what is going on with the system, how urgent it is, and an optional note. When you send it, that goes into our job records and is emailed to Atlas so a person can call you back.

It is used to answer your request, schedule the visit and do the work. ProxMedia, the company that built and maintains this website, also receives a copy of the form so the system can be supported and fixed when something breaks.

The Book online page loads a booking form from Jobber, the scheduling software Atlas runs the business on. What you enter there goes to Jobber and into the Atlas account inside it. Jobber is a separate company and handles that information under its own privacy policy.

If you call or text the number instead, Atlas has your phone number and whatever you say in the message, and uses it to answer you.

Information collected automatically

Visit measurement

Two separate things measure traffic here, and they work very differently.

Our own page counter. It records the address of the page you opened and the domain name of the site that sent you, and nothing else. It sets no cookie. It does not keep your IP address. The code it uses to tell one visit apart from another is rebuilt from scratch every day and cannot be turned back into a person.
Google’s tags. The site loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics and Google Ads tags. Those set cookies in your browser and send Google information about the visit, including the pages you opened, roughly where you are and how you arrived. They are used to measure traffic and to measure advertising.

Google explains what it does with that information in its own privacy policy and in its note on data collected on sites that use its services.

Cookies and browser storage

What gets stored in your browser

Google Analytics cookies. Named _ga and _ga_ followed by a property code. They tell a returning visit apart from a new one so visitor counts mean something.
Google Ads cookies and storage. Named _gcl_au and similar. They connect an ad click to what happened afterwards, such as a call or a form. Google’s ad tags also keep a small call measurement record in your browser’s local storage.
One cookie of our own, on desktop only. atlas_tuneup_seen_v2 records that you already closed the seasonal tune-up offer, so it stops reappearing. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics. Blocking them does not stop you using the site, calling, or booking.

The homepage also embeds a Google map of the service area. Loading that map is a request to Google, the same as visiting Google Maps directly.

Your choices

Asking what we have, and asking us to delete it

Call or email and ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. We will do it. The one exception is a record we have to keep for a job we actually did, such as an invoice or a permit, which stays as a business record.

We keep what you send for as long as it takes to do the work and keep normal business records, and no longer than that.

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes and contact

If this changes, the date changes

When the website changes what it collects, this page gets updated and the date at the top moves. There is no archive of old versions, so the page you are reading is the current one.
